NASA Drop Tower

John Davis, Prillaman's Crane & Rigging

Our company salesmen were contacted by NASA to replace the Steel for the Drop Tower, since this was going to be an ongoing project over many months, I used A1A Software to draw the Tower to scale, the help in the scaling of the crane(s) used in different locations to ensure that the Crane was large enough, and to give the client a visual representation of the Crane location, the obstructions and the actual height of the Tower that was built in the early 1965 for the Apollo Space Program.

We used this tool to bid most of our work on a daily basis, the Software is perfect for not only the bidding process, but also for the crane Operators to know at a glance what the setup will be, how far off the Structure to set up the Crane, and even the proper Rigging, so they can actually use the information as a Checklist.

This Plan and information went to the Engineers along with Pricing/Quote, and the comments that came back were clear, they understood from a glance that we put a lot of time and effort into the plan, this was invaluable for the total overall cost of the work and planning. They also could ask for different dimensions and percentages of the Crane loading along with crane tip height so that the plan met NASA requirements.

In conclusion: the use of A1A Software has built our Business and Reputation, and taken our product and plans to the next level, Thank You for all of the effort your Team has put forth in creating this Product.
