Immerse Fest Orlando

Held in the heart of downtown Orlando, ImmerseFest was a large-scale collaborative production that brought together an exceptional team of industry professionals, including Creative City Project, APAV Solutions, Loud Live Productions, ProRig Tech, On The Hook LLC, Garrett Consultants, and many others. Together, the project culminated in spectacular live aerial performances by MESH, Cirque du Soleil, and additional world-class performers.

We secured this high-profile project by demonstrating early that we could execute a flawless operation in an environment where there was no margin for error. From our very first planning meetings, Sky Limit leveraged 3D Lift Plan as both a powerful sales tool and the foundation of our engineering approach. By presenting a detailed digital twin of the proposed crane operations, we were able to provide the festival organizers with immediate confidence in our crane selection, positioning, and overall lift strategy.

As the project evolved from planning into production, 3D Lift Plan became the central platform for every crane-related discussion. Unlike a traditional construction project, we weren’t lifting steel or concrete; we were suspending world-class performers above live audiences. That distinction elevated every aspect of planning and execution. In this environment, 3D Lift Plan served not only as our engineering foundation but also as an invaluable communication tool, allowing production managers, stage designers, riggers, engineers, and artists to collaborate around a single, highly accurate visual representation of the operation.

Crane placement presented one of the project’s greatest logistical challenges. The crane needed to be positioned with absolute precision to safely execute dynamic aerial performances without interfering with the production itself or the audience’s experience. Using the Lift Plan Export function, we imported our crane configurations directly into the customer’s BIM environment, allowing the creative team to integrate the crane into the stage design during the planning process. This transformed a large piece of construction equipment into a seamless component of the overall production.

Because performer safety was the highest priority for every member of the project team, we relied heavily on the Rigging Design feature throughout planning. The performance utilized an engineered circular truss system designed to support dynamic, multi-directional performer movements. By incorporating the custom truss assembly into 3D Lift Plan, we were able to calculate precise capacities, analyze rigging tensions, verify clearances, and provide confidence that every component of the lifting system performed exactly as intended.

The Lift Simulation feature also proved invaluable in bridging the gap between technical engineering and the client’s creative vision. By combining crane operations with blueprint and aerial overlays, we created a complete visualization of the event that included the crane, stage, performers, and audience. This allowed every stakeholder to understand the operation long before equipment arrived on site, eliminating uncertainty, refining crane positioning, and identifying potential conflicts during pre-production rather than during execution.

Ultimately, the success of our role at Immerse Fest Orlando came down to one simple principle: exceptional planning leads to exceptional execution.

3D Lift Plan gave us the engineering precision required to safely suspend performers over thousands of spectators while providing the visual tools necessary to collaborate effectively with world-class entertainment professionals. It became the common language between engineering, production, and creative teams, helping transform an incredibly complex lift into a breathtaking, flawlessly executed performance.
